Nokia ha confermato i suoi piani per il rilascio di una versione preliminare di MeeGo per Tablet e per Handset il 30 giugno.

La versione finale dovrebbe arrivare in ottobre e questo rilascio consentirà di iniziare a prendere confidenza con la nuova piattaforma. Per gli sviluppatori sarà anche presente un SDK. Nel video potete vedere una demo del funzionamento dell’interfaccia touch che illustra le funzionalità principali dalla gestione multimediale alle pagine web.

Python Audio Tools is a collection of audio handling programs that work from the command line. These include programs for CD extraction, track conversion from one audio format to another, track renaming and retagging, track identification, CD burning from tracks, and more. It supports internationalized track filenames and metadata using Unicode. It works with high-definition, multi-channel audio as well as CD-quality. Track conversion uses multiple CPUs or CPU cores if available to greatly speed the transcoding process. Track metadata can be retrieved from MusicBrainz, FreeDB, or compatible servers. Audio formats supported are WAV, FLAC, WavPack, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, M4A, Apple Lossless, and more.

Changes: Support was added for Shorten and Apple Lossless audio formats.

ChronicDB applies dynamic database upgrades with zero database downtime and zero data inconsistencies. It can relocate databases on the fly, reorganize database schemas (partition, merge, relocate, rename, and generally update fields and tables, both horizontally and vertically), reverse schema changes, and preserve execution of unmodified legacy database applications alongside their new version, all without bringing either the database or the database application down. ChronicDB provides a virtualized environment that guards your data from unnecessary expansion and simplifies the change management process.

CorsixTH is a clone of Theme Hospital. As computers evolve, we risk losing some classic games. Bullfrog's Theme Hospital, published in 1997, is a classic simulation game, but getting it to run natively on modern operating systems is getting progressively harder. CorsixTH aims to reimplement the game engine of Theme Hospital, and to be able to load the original game data files. This means that you will need a purchased copy of Theme Hospital, or a copy of the demo, in order to use CorsixTH. After most of the original engine has been reimplemented, the project will serve as a base from which extensions to the original game can be made.

Changes: The biggest addition in beta3 is level goals and different availability of rooms and diseases for each level, resulting in much better progression. In terms of content, several more rooms and diseases have been implemented. In terms of gameplay, a new heating mechanism should make it easier to keep staff and patients happy. On the UI front, there are also now an unlimited number of save slots, as well as improvements to management dialogs. There have also been bug-fixes all round.

GiftedMotion is a small and easy-to-use GIF animator. If you need a simple way to turn a series of still images into an animation to be displayed on a Web page without the hassle of learning how to use a full-blown graphics suite, then GiftedMotion is probably the tool for you.

Changes: A problem in which the player sometimes skipped frames when drawing takes a long time was fixed by making sure that events are in fact fired on the event dispatcher thread.

OpenGroupware Coils is a Python port of the venerable OpenGroupware project. It is backward compatible and can be installed in parallel with legacy versions of OpenGroupware. It provides additional features including an AMQP-based service architecture and a BPML-based workflow engine. The workflow engine includes the ability to read and write a variety of file formats, operate on relational database services, and a variety of common actions required to automate various tasks. Groupware resources and workflow route, processes, and formats.can be managed via WebDAV. Groupware functionality can also be accessed via the zOGI XML-RPC API just as with legacy ZideStore servers.

Changes: RSS/Atom feeds and asynchronous commands are supported. A fully-featured workflow scheduler was implemented that supports scheduling a process to be created at a specified date and time, interval, or chronological pattern (similar to cron). When the master service is started, additional bundles to scan for features can be specified as well as core bundles to be banned. Also some ORM bugs that may have prevented initialization have been resolved.

Fityk is nonlinear curve-fitting and data analysis software. It allows data visualization, separation of overlapping peaks, and least squares fitting using standard Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm, a genetic algorithm, or Nelder-Mead simplex method. It knows about many functions (mostly bell-shaped, like Gaussian, Loretzian, Pearson 7, Voigt, Pseudo-Voigt, and Doniach-Sunjic) and user-defined functions can be easily added. It also enables background substracting, data calibration, and task automation with a simple script language. It is being developed to analyze powder diffraction patterns, but is also used in chromatography, photoluminescence, infrared, and Raman spectroscopy, and can be used to fit analytical functions to any kind of data. The most similar program to Fityk is probably PeakFit.

Changes: An add-on for analysis of powder diffraction data is ready for testing, although it is not finished yet.

plptools lets Unix (mainly Linux) systems communicate with EPOC PDAs (such as the Psion Revo, Psion Series 5, and Geofox 1) via a serial or (on Linux) infra-red connection. The following tools are part of the package: plpftp, an FTP-like frontend with some extensions; plpfuse, a FUSE-based file system that mounts the EPOC device's file systems on the PC; sisinstall, a SIS package installer; and plpprintd, a print server for printing via a PC.

Changes: This release has no code changes, but improves the installation instructions.

Redo Backup and Recovery is an extremely easy-to-use backup system that stores an image of the entire hard drive, making recovery from viruses, malware, or hard drive failures a snap. It can boot from CD or USB. It automatically locates local drives, USB drives, and network-shared drives to make backup storage and retrieval as simple as possible for anyone. The menu-driven GUI includes a Web browser for downloading drivers, as well as a partition editor, undelete utility, and drive reset tool.

Krename is a very powerful batch file renamer for KDE which can rename a list of files based on a set of expressions. It can copy/move the files to another directory or simply rename the input files. Krename supports many conversion operations, including conversion of a filename to lowercase or to uppercase, conversion of the first letter of every word to uppercase, adding numbers to filenames, finding and replacing parts of the filename, and many more. It can also change access and modification dates, permissions, and file ownership.

Changes: Many smaller improvements were made. A new PoDoFo based plugin was added to rename files based on PDF metadata. Translation updates were made. A few bugs were fixed.

etm provides a format for using simple text files to store event and task information, a command line interface for viewing tasks and events in a variety of convenient ways, and a wx(Python)-based GUI for creating and modifying events and tasks as well as viewing them. Alarms are supported for events, as well as repetition for both events and tasks in a powerful and flexible manner.

Changes: This release adds item templates for actions, events, notes, reminders, tasks, and projects with tab completion. It adds pattern and period to titles for item, busy, and ledger views. It implements filters in ledger view. It fixes a search bug that missed matching notes, fixes project filter regex, and fixes windows 'in use by another process' bug. It eliminates unnecessary calls to tput. Improved spacing in the console display when not grouping by date. A bug in etmSunMoon.py has been fixed.

MIMEDefang is a flexible MIME email scanner designed to do all kinds of email processing, including anti-virus scanning, anti-spam scanning, replacing parts of messages with URLs, adding boilerplate disclaimers, and so on. It can alter or delete various parts of a MIME message according to a Perl-based policy filter. It can also bounce messages with unacceptable attachments and modify SMTP response codes on the fly. It works with the Sendmail 8.11 and newer "Milter" API, which makes it more flexible and efficient than procmail-based approaches.

Changes: This fixes just one bug in 2.69 and earlier versions: The embedded Perl code did not call PERL_SET_CONTEXT after forking, which resulted in strange behavior in the scanning code.
